Kith & Crinoline | Experimental Podcasting

Hey there boys and girls. I’m always game for trying the newest tech. I did a blog and a vlog and I collected pogs. So now for a pod... cast. Why Kith & Crinoline? ”Kith” is what you can call your best friends and neighbors. These are the people who are most likely to listen to these small disorganized thoughts. This podcast is an audio journal that is in no way journalistic. A ”learn by doing” experiment. And ”Crinoline”? Well, who doesn’t love a full fluffy hoop skirt or a tu tu. And I like to think that many exciting things are hiding under all that crinoline. I’m also a sucker for alliteration.

I'd been digging the way I could listen to audiobooks via my local library when I stumbled on this book, and it changed so much. I've since listened to it multiple times and each time I hear new information. It’s titled Goodbye Things: The New Japanese Minimalism and it's by a man named Fumio Sasaki. The book triggered a journey for me where I am challenging my limiting beliefs on possessions and space. I've not overcome my materialism but I'm so much more aware of it.

The issue is that awareness is painful and it's hard to pause one's own growth in an area in that spot that precedes an actual overhaul. I can't just hang out in the awareness.

I share my economical and fun ideas on how to stay young, inside and out. At least, I attempt to put some words around them.
This was also the premise for speech I gave at a Humorous Speech Contest for my Toastmasters Club. I went two rounds. I thought it was funny, but the judges felt that two other speeches were funnier.
Another note: I'm not loving the name of the podcast, but I'm trying to get a bit of traction on this process, so I'll change it further down the line.
